My Mom’s Substack

by Christopher

There has been probably not been a single day in her life that Lillian Barden did not write, unless prevented by outside forces.

And even in the last year of her life, our mom signed up for Substack, navigated the dashboard workflow, and published her thoughts on various subjects.

Her full archive of substack essays are here.

They’re so well-written and thoughtful, and even in the last year of a life she never expected to last this long (her own words), she saw so much hope for the future of those closest to her, her community, her country.

She believed in our ability not only to learn and innovate, but love each other, to help our neighbors — to “figure things out,” as she would say.
